The Tecsun PL-330 is the latest portable pocket receiver to offer SSB capability. This feature, along with direct frequency input makes the PL-330 the ideal receiver for those who want to listen to shortwave radio stations, amateur radio transmissions, as well as regular shortwave transmissions. The Tecsun PL-330 is powered by a BL-5C 1000mAh lithium-ion battery that offers up to 24 hours of continuous operation. The Tecsun PL-330 is the first receiver to offer ETM+, a search function that fills in 24 time-specific memories based on the time of day the signal was received. For example, stations stored between 0900 and 0950 will be stored in E09 memory. Using this system you can make an individual ETM memory for each hour of the day. Pressing the ETM button once the initial frequencies are stored automatically selects the frequencies previously stored at that time of day. The Tecsun Pl-330 also features synchronous AM detection of the shortwave bands, a feature rarely found on such a small-sized receiver. This receiver offers up to 9 user-selectable bandwidth settings (depending on the receiving mode selected), allowing the user to customize performance according to band conditions. In SSB mode, the smallest frequency increase is 10Hz, ensuring that SSB signals are always intelligible. For shortwave listeners, a simple press of the arrow button will toggle the receiver through all assigned shortwave bands. Similarly, in SSB mode, pressing the arrow button toggles across all assigned amateur radio bands. Tecsun has listened to the request of shortwave listeners and implemented the On/Off backlight feature where you can select the LCD backlight so that it is always on, or always off. This is a great feature for nighttime listeners.
